Punch up

I have had a right old punch up this morning, let get serious I have punched 360 Scallop Circles.
I have been asked to make 60 Mother's Day gifts.
I found paperclip bookmarks on the Spiltcoaststampers and decided that these would make great Mother's Day gifts.
Here is a close up of the flower they are so easy to make.
You punch 3-10 DSP Scallop Circles, scrunch them up till you get the look you want, flatten them, use your paper piercing tool to put hole in the middle, join with a brad and arrange flower for the look up want.
I have used 6 Scallop Circles for these flowers.

Top Note Coin Purse

Just quick post today.
The other day the zip on my purse gave way, today when I was at the supermarket all the coins fell out of it.
So I came home and made this Top Note Coin Purse to match my Top Note Bag that I blogged about a couple of weeks ago.
I had always planned on making one to match my bag.

One Page Mini Scrapbook

I had a fantastic time at Ladies Camp over the weekend. I have been tired since, with me been out every night last week apart from Thursday and then I started making a new top for the formal dinner on Saturday evening at 11.30pm hence not an early night. I will catch up this week I'm only out twice this week.
Liz Talyor from City Impact Church Balcutha was our speaker for the weekend. She was lovely, very down to earth and easy to talk to.
Saturday Afternoon was free time Angela had here beads with her and some ladies made necklaces, brooches or rings etc.
Here is the necklace Angela made me.
I saw the main bead and knew it would go nice with my new top I had made.
I demonstrated this One Page Mini Scrapbook.
Everyone who made one was delighted with theirs.
These are my sample, Darian is 3 in this photo.
I made Angela one as she was to busy with the beads.
Here is hers.
We used Apple Washington Dsp.
We emblellished them using the XL 2 Step Bird Punch.
Karyn had been watching my blog last week thinking she would get a sneak peek, sorry to disappoint you but the wait was worth it.
This project can be found here at scrapbook about com.

Fun with Sponges

Boy this week has been busy, tonight is the first night I have been home this week.
This weekend our Church is holding a ladies camp and I'm on the planning team so I have been flat tack getting ready. I'm preparing a Mini Album for anyone who would like to make it on Saturday Afternoon. I haven't photographed it yet, I will show it to you next week.
I have made 2 large thank you cards, one for the speaker Liz who is coming from Baclutha for the weekend and the other is for Steve (from our Church) who has felt lead by the lord to bless us ladies with a very special dinner on Saturday. My Mother is coming from Christchurch for the weekend to cook for us, she is going to be very blessed as she has got Saturday dinner off. Sue is making her card.
Here is the first card I made.
I have been inspired by Michelle Zindorf works of art, her blog is amazing. She does the most stunning Braying and sponging work, and she has over 300 tutorials. The above card is a case of her card, here is the tutorial for it.
In her tutorial she is using a brayer, but that is still on my wish list. So I have sponged it instead. I am very pleased with the end result.
 Supplies List
Stamp Sets: Baroque Motifs and Vintage Vogue.
Card Stock: Not Quite Navy and So Saffron.
Inks: Old Olive, So Saffron, Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze and VersaMark.
Extra: So Saffron Ribbon, Clearing Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool and Clear Rhinestone Brads.

The second card is cased from Michelle also, I have also used sponges instead of a brayer. Here is the tutorial for this card.

I'm very pleased with both cards, I have lined them with 2 pages of computer page so there is plenty of room for everyone to leave a message.
Supplies List:
Stamp Sets: Organic Grace (level 1 hostess) and Heartfelt Thanks.
Card Stock:   Pacific Point and Baja Breeze.
Inks: Baja Breeze, Pacific Point, Old Olive and Basic Black.
Extras: Silver Brads from HodgePodge Hardware Set.

I'm not sure if I will get time to post anything tomorrow, so if I don't have a great weekend everyone.

Fifth Avenue Floral

This is the second card I made like this.
The first one I had made was still smoking (hot of the press) when I sold it, I had only just finished making it and showed it to Liz and she bought it right there and then.
I have used Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set, this watercolour techniquie is called "Floating watercolour".
I first saw this techniquie awhile ago and had never gotten around to trying it. So on Saturday I took the bull by the horns and set to work. I'm very pleased with the results. I can't remember where I first saw it, so I have found Anne Hayward's blog with the tutorial, thanks. I didn't do it quite the same way, as I was going from memory and had no access to the internet on Saturaday.
I have used Little Leaves Sizzlets Die, I think they look great as rose leaves.
Supplies List:
Stamp Sets: Fifth Avenue Floral and Teeny Tiny Sentiments.
Card Stock: Glossy White and Kiwi Kiss.
Ink: Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry and Riding Hood Red.
Extras: Aqua Painter, Big Shot, Polka Dots Embossing Folder and Little Leaves Sizzlet Die.

Extra Large 2 Step Bird Punch

I'm loving my XL 2 Step Bird Punch.
This a very quick card to make. I have used Polka Dots Embossing Folder and Little Leaves Sizzlits Die through the Big Shot, So Saffron and Old Olive Stock Card, Autumn Traditions DSP, Soft Suede Ink, Large Oval and Bird Punch and Teeny Tiny Sentiments Stamp Set.
Here's another quick and easy card. The Bird has been mounted onto a Top Note, the bird is punched out of Cottage Wall DSP.
I have cut 2 top Notes and trimmed the So Saffron (top) at the perforations. This is very effective.
This Punch is a great punch perfect for cards and Emblishments for your Scrapbooks.
XL Two Step Bird Punch is a must for any crafter, wether you are a card maker or a Scrapbooker.

Very Productive Day

I have been very busy today, not papercrafting but sewing and felting.
I have caught up on all my mending that had piled up. I have made Samuel 6 pairs of underpants, I was given the material and I had all the elastic so they didn't cost a cent.
I even manged to get into town to do some banking and bit of shopping without children in tow. That's the beauty of having a 14 year old, it was payment for me replacing a zip in his favourite pair of shorts.
Savannah had ripped a hole in the knee of her favourite pair of jeans, so I zig zaged it on the machine and I'm in the process of needle felting over top of the stitching. I will so you tomorrow.
Here is the broch that I needle felted on Saturday evening.
Have an enjoyable evening. I hoping to get my JAI challenge do tonight. See you tomorrow.

Shabby Chic

I have made another Top Note Purse.
I had lots of comments from people at church this morning about my purse.
I'm thinking I might make some more purses to sell.
I have made a felt button.
Yesterday Jeanne, Savannah and I went to the Patchwork Exhibition that has been here in Timaru this weekend. The Quilts were amazing, the patience they must have to make such works of art. The was lots of stall with all sorts of fibre crafts availible, I could have spent a fortune.
I bought a needle felting kit I have wanted to have a go at felting for a long time.
So last night while watching tv I made myself a needle felted broch (I forgot to photograph it), I will show it to you another day soon.
After finishing this bag I made a felt button for it. I am pleased with my efforts so far. I have seen the most lovely needle felted teddy bears, so that can be I goal later on to make felted teddy bear.

I'm Loving Top Note Die

Love it, Love it, Love it.
My Big Shot of cause, especially the Top Note Die (which is exclusive to SU).
Email me to order yours.
I saw a Top Note Rag Purse on Lynn Pratt's Blog, she has the tutorial for sale (I looked at her photos and worked it out.) I knew I just had to made one (I needed a new bag, when don't we.)
It's a nice size, but if you want it bigger you just add more Top Notes.
I'm already thinking about other bits of Fabric that I have got to make another one or two.
I made it out of some fabric that I had cut out a shirt (long time ago) for Paul (DH) and had never got around to sewing it, sorry Paul. I cut out 4 Top Notes (48 in total so fast to do, when you can cut them 4 at time)  and Quilted them together.
I added an extra pocket on the outside. The handle are strip of ripped fabric plaited and I added a tab and a button for fastening.

My Son Darian (14) has just arrived home from been at his Youth Pastor's house were him and some of the other youth have been helping Elliot rip out a chimmey, here is a photo of him.
He has had a great day and he wasn't anywhere near a computor or playstation.
